Van den Brom Confident of Victory against Roda JC

AZ Alkmaar are looking to stretch their unbeaten run to 6 matches when they take onRoda JC in the Dutch Eredivisie this weekend.

The game sees the return of the club game after the last two weeks were taken up by international commitments. Rather than just train during this period, AZ Alkmaar decided to have a friendly match against Besiktas last week. It turned out to be a successful exercise for the Dutch team, as they won 4-1. Since the 1-0 win over Emmen towards the end of October, AZ Alkmaar have been unbeaten in the league.

They, however, have not been able to climb the table much thanks to a draw against Ajax. Even then, it is a positive run for the team. During this period, they also failed to win against Maccabi Tel Aviv, and the 0-0 draw continues to destroy any hopes of qualification into the knockout stages. In the Europa league, AZ Alkmaar have managed to take only two points from the opening four matches.

Even though it is still possible that they would be able to leapfrog both Maccabi Tel Aviv and Dundalk in the last two games, they need to recover quickly. Manager John van den Brom is hoping that the team can repeat the same brilliant performance against Ajax when they take onRoda JC.

“I like a small blow to the arm, but I think so. And if someone is not fit, then there are other players ready to have we have seen during the practice match against Besiktas. Guys like MuamerTanković, Gino Coutinho, mats seuntjens, Fernando Lewis, Iliass Bel Hassani and Fred Friday have really shown in that game. With Fred, you see that this week really back on training. his three goals against Besiktas are also a confirmation that it is a good striker,” said the manager about the team news.

John van den Brom and his squad are struggling

AZ Alkmaar is a club that has consistently managed to secure the 3rd or 4th spot of the Eredivisie League but have struggled trying to snatch anything higher than that.

In this current season, John van den Brom and his team has secured 16 points from the 9 opening matches of their campaign which is a fairly good position but they have recently been dropping a considerably high amount of points.

Vitesse, Sparta Rotterdam and Go Ahead Eagles are the latest opponents that AZ Alkmaar has faced off in the Eredivisie League and out of the possible 9 points that the team of John van den Brom could have secured from these matches, they were only able to snatch 3 points.

This string of results is evidence of how much AZ Alkmaar has recently been struggling in recent times. Ron Vlaar and WoutWeghorst are 2 key figures in the squad of John van den Brom and they were not able to perform during AZ Alkmaar’s match against Sparta Rotterdam due to injuries which was a huge blow for the team and that game finished in a 1-1 draw.

AZ Alkmaar Should Not UnderestimateVojvodina – Van den Brom

AZ Alkmaar’s approach for the upcoming Europa League game against Vojvodinawill not change according to manager John van den Brom.

The Dutch team managed an excellent 3-0 win over the Serbian outfit in the first leg of the Europa League qualifying games. AZ Alkmaar are fighting to reach the Europa League since it will give the club a chance to progress of the divisions once again. Ultimately, reaching the Champions League will be the aim for the club but for now they are fighting in the Europa League. The comfortable victory in the first leg has almost assured them of a place in the next round, but van den Brom is not ready to take any chances.

The team comes on the back of good form after back-to-back victories in all competitions. It has served to put an end to the wobbly start to the season. AZ Alkmaar could only manage a draw and a defeat againstHeerenveen and PSV Eindhoven in the recent league encounters. As a result, the club are struggling to achieve a direction in the domestic competition. AZ Alkmaar have put together a run of wins in order to climb up the table, but the Europa League could be a distraction. Hence, it was suggested that AZ Alkmaar would rest players againstVojvodina.

JANSSEN SET TO JOIN KANE IN SPURS ATTACK

Vincent Janssen will be sharing the load in attack with Harry Kane this season as Tottenham Hotspur continue their attempt at winning the Premier League this season. Harry Kane didn’t quite live to expectations at the Euro 2016 in France, but will continue his show in the heart of the attack this season. However, Janssen will be helping out a lot this season.

The impression was created from the first game of the season when Tottenham were forced to a 1-1 draw against Everton. The 22-year old was impressive for the Spurs after replacing Eric Dier in the 56th minute in the game played at Goodison Park. Continue reading “JANSSEN SET TO JOIN KANE IN SPURS ATTACK”

AZ Alkmaar player moves to Tottenham

AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen is set to join Premier League club Tottenham this week.

The Dutch striker is reported to have had a medical during the weekend and may complete his move to the London club later during the week.

The player who is currently 22-years old is set to reinforce Tottenham’s attack that has been too reliant on Harry Kane last season. It is believed that the price will amount to around £17m. Vincent Janssen was a prolific player last season where he managed 22 goals in the Dutch league. Tottenham will be hoping that he could replicate the same form that he showed in Netherlands in the Premier League.

It is believed that Vincent Janssen had started discussions with Tottenham since last month as he was given permission by AZ Alkmaar to discuss with the Premier League. The striker already visited Tottenham training ground and met with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino. It is also reported that they have also agreed on terms, and it is only a matter of days that the deal will be made official.
