OLE STILL BELIEVES IN ON LOAN STAR

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists on loan midfielder Tahith Chong still has a future at the club. Chong, 20, will spend the 2020-2021 campaign in Germany with Werder Bremen. He could make his competitive debut when the Bundesliga starts next month.

The player hopes his season-long spell at the German outfit will lead to him becoming a success in the Premier League. He also stated that he hopes to follow in the footsteps of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne by flourishing at Werder Bremen.

The Belgian international was sent on loan to Werder Bremen before making a permanent move to Wolfsburg a year later. He has since returned to England with Manchester City. He is considered one of the best players in the division. He was recently named the best player in the league for the 2019-2020 season. Ching hopes and wishes his career can follow the same trajectory as the former Chelsea star.

Aside from De Bruyne, Serge Gnabry is another positive reference for Ching. The former Gunners winger spent a season with Bremen before moving onto bigger things.

Chong had other offers from different clubs before choosing to make a move to Germany. AZ Alkmaar were credited with a strong interest, but the player has already made his mind up over a move to Bremen.

Chong’s manager Solskjaer also believes the player still has a future with the club. Solskjaer told the clubs official website that he is pleased with the progress Chong has made since he stepped up from the Academy and he is looking forward to continuing to develop his talent.

Chong, 20, played 12 times in all competitions last term. His most recent involvement was coming in the Europa League last 16-second leg against LASK. He joined his new team-mates last Sunday at a training camp in Austria and took part in the first session as the club prepared for the 2020-2021 season
