Stengs Ruled Out

AZ Alkmaar winger Calvin Stengs has sustained an injury on the opening day of the season in the match against PSV Eindhoven. This injury means that the winger will be missing the rest of the season.

This will be a disappointment for Calvin Stengs who was looking to have a great season this term. In a previous interview, the winger said that he was excited to be part of the AZ Alkmaar side and that he will do everything he can in order to get enough playing time in the first team. JANSSEN SET TO JOIN KANE IN SPURS ATTACK

Vincent Janssen will be sharing the load in attack with Harry Kane this season as Tottenham Hotspur continue their attempt at winning the Premier League this season. Harry Kane didn’t quite live to expectations at the Euro 2016 in France, but will continue his show in the heart of the attack this season. However, Janssen will be helping out a lot this season.

The impression was created from the first game of the season when Tottenham were forced to a 1-1 draw against Everton. The 22-year old was impressive for the Spurs after replacing Eric Dier in the 56th minute in the game played at Goodison Park. Continue reading

UTRECHT SLIP UP

AZ Alkmaar unexpectedly fell to FC Utrecht in the Dutch top flight the previous afternoon. With it being an away game, it was not supposed to be a walk on the park scenario for Alkmaar by any means, but, the Cheese Farmers had the upper hand given the fact they had been pretty consistent leading up to this fixture.

But, the end result of the game was nothing less than a shock for the fans of both the teams. It was not the sheer brilliance of Utrecht which led to the thumping of Alkmaar. Continue reading
