MONACO CONFIRM THE SIGNING OF BOADU FROM AZ ALKMAAR

French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Dutch Eredivisie outfit AZ Alkmaar for the signing of youngster Myron Boadu for an undisclosed fee. The young talent has finally chosen to sign for Monaco as he believes that is the club where he will get the most opportunities to continue his development. After a break-out season at Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie last season, he started drawing attention from a host of European clubs, with Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea all understood to have made inquiries about snapping him up from the Dutch league.

The youngster, who plays for the Netherlands youth team, rose through the ranks at Alkmaar and was promoted from the club’s youth academy after he was sighted as a player with a bright future because of the potential he showed during a training session with the senior team. His promotion to the first team was a well-earned one as he deserved every chance he was given to play for the senior side.

LAZIO EYEING MOVE FOR ALKMAAR MIDFIELDER

AZ Alkmaar attacking midfielder Dani de Wit is attracting serious interests from a lot of teams on the European football scene. This is according to the latest reports coming out of the media in Italy. Tuttomercatoweb is one of the major news outlets in Italy and they have reported that AZ Alkmaar player De Wit is on the radar of a lot of European clubs including Lazio in the Italian Serie A.

The report from Tuttomercatoweb said that Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is weighing up a move for the AZ Alkmaar trequartista. AZ STOP FORTUNA GOOD RUN

AZ Alkmaar are still in serious contention for a place in Europe’s premier club competition next season following the narrow win over Fortuna Sittard at home at the weekend. AZ Alkmaar finished the Dutch Eredivisie encounter with ten men but that didn’t stop them from securing a vital win in the Champions League race with PSV Eindhoven.

Albert Gudmundsson scored the only goal of the game to give 10-man AZ Alkmaar a 1-0 win at home to in-form Fortuna Sittard. Icelandic international Gudmundsson has three goals in 20 games for his country and he was responsible for the winning goal of the game. His spot kick just before the half hour mark was enough to win the game for the hosts.

Heerenveen will head to the AFAS Stadion to take on AZ Alkmaar in their next league clash on Sunday.
